DATE: 7, 8 & 9 June, 2024.
In this workshop Milica will be explaining how to create your own fantasy creatures, how to pick colors and lighting for them and how to render illustrations where they are the main subject so it looks believable.
Milica Čeliković is Senior Concept artist/Illustrator and works full time on art for Hearthstone making card art, skins, cinematics, key art and boards, also working as an artist on Lorcana TCG by Disney. Other game titles she worked on are War Dragons, Teppen, KeyForge, Minion Masters and AracKhan Wars, as well Runescape and Rise of Cultures.
DAY 1
-Intro: About Milica and introductions with students
-Career in game art, from self taught to senior artist
-Lesson: Importance of references and color theory and real life animal anatomy
-Demo: Showing how to choose good references and drawing and painting animal study
-Homework: Doing your own animal study and gathering references
DAY 2
-Feedback and overpaints of homework 15-30 minutes per person
-Lesson: Designing and making fantasy creatures
-Demo: Fantasy creature concepting and starting illustration
-Homework: Brief of your own creature and its illustration (concept as start is fine)
DAY 3
-Feedback on homework from second day 15-30 minutes per person
-Portfolio reviews 10 minutes per person
-Q&A: Welcome are all questions about the subject of art, employment, pipeline at art studios, connections, freelancing, problems artists face and similar.
BONUS:
-3 video recordings of animal studies and one narrated video of my illustration process for fantasy Portrait for you to keep.
Materials: I work in Photoshop on Wacom Intuos on Pc, if you don’t use this ones any similar software, laptop/tablet will work as long as you can follow and produce art for assignments so we can have feedback sessions.
All three days are recorded so you can rewatch them at your own pace, feel free to ask me whatever you are interested about or concerned as an artist in this 18 hours in total. All mentioned links and resources will be saved too in one word doc so you can check them later.

*Frequent questions:
What happens if I can’t see the classes live one day?
• No problem. All classes are live but will also be recorded and posted on our platform. So you can see them whenever you want throughout the duration of the course. This means that if you cannot attend your class live at the stipulated time, you will be able to see them on the platform until the end of the course. These video-classes posted on the platform can be viewed unlimitedly during the duration of the course but cannot be copied or downloaded. They can also be viewed for 6 months once the course is over.
When can I see the classes I did not attend live?
• Access to the virtual platform where you can consult all the information or documentation of the course, access all the classes that have already been taught or the proposed exercises.
