Format: Live classes with demos, exercises, feedback and tutorials. Classes will also be recorded.

ONLINE COURSE: Color and Light with Irene Trapero.

Week 1: Overview of the course objectives and structure. Introduction to color theory, focusing on why value is so important. Understanding the basics of how light interacts with different materials and surfaces. How to stylize colors.

TASK 1: Study how value and color work together in various lighting situations through photography studies.

Week 2: Introduction of light in painting and how to create atmosphere and depth. How to use composition to create appealing images. Exploration of the fundamentals of storytelling through light.

TASK 2: Choose your own idea and start making iterations of sketches and compositions.

Week 3: Techniques for creating harmonious color palettes and expressing mood through color choices. Practice of painting techniques and experimentation with textures and effects.

TASK 3: Second pass, adding color to the selected sketch and exploring moods and palettes.

Week 4: Reviewing and giving feedback on your finished works and portfolio. Concluding the course with helpful insights and guidance for your artistic journey moving forward.

TASK 4: Final pass, define the image. Apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course to finalize the painting that showcases your understanding of value, color, lighting, and composition.

What happens if one day I can’t watch live classes?

• No problem. All classes are live but will also be recorded and published on our platform. So you can see them whenever you want during the duration of the course. This means that if you cannot attend your live class at the stipulated time, you will be able to view them on the platform until the end of the course. These video classes published on the platform can be viewed unlimitedly during the duration of the course but cannot be copied or downloaded. Recorded class can also be viewed for 6 months once the course has finished.

When can I watch classes I missed live?

• Access to the virtual platform where you can consult all the information or documentation of the course, access all the classes already taught or the proposed exercises.
