Description
DATE:1, 2 and 3 March, 2024.
WORKSHOP:
In this workshop we will explore character design taking advantage of tools used in Storyboard when thinking about gags, ideas and character development, which will help enrich the depth and freshness of our designs. We will review some important concepts in both design and storyboarding, references, as well as tricks and different processes that have helped me generate ideas and develop characters, and we will apply them in a couple of practical exercises.
The collection of references combined with brainstorming will be explored, and the step from thumbnails to roughs and final drawings.
Alex will also teach examples of storyboarding, and we will talk about how character design and storyboarding feed off each other during the development of a film, and how to take advantage of elements of both in our work.
We will talk and practice exercises that have helped me progress in both story and design during the workshop and that I would recommend continuing to practice as an exercise once the workshop is over.
*Frequent questions:
What happens if I can’t see the classes live one day?
• No problem. All classes are live but will also be recorded and posted on our platform. So you can see them whenever you want throughout the duration of the course. This means that if you cannot attend your class live at the stipulated time, you will be able to see them on the platform until the end of the course. These video-classes posted on the platform can be viewed unlimitedly during the duration of the course but cannot be copied or downloaded. They can also be viewed for 6 months once the course is over.
When can I see the classes I did not attend live?
• Access to the virtual platform where you can consult all the information or documentation of the course, access all the classes that have already been taught or the proposed exercises.
