I am a visual development artist who mostly worked on early development in animated feature films. In this workshop I will share my experience working as a visual development artist in the film industry, and sharing what I’ve learned so far that helped me improve my thoughts and skills. I will be creating some paintings while sharing my thoughts with everybody.

DAY2 Design

Focusing on the design part of a visual development cinematic piece – What is the story and how can we use design to support the story.
( Shapes, Composition, Perspective, Rhythm, Active vs Passive, Camera, Gesture…. )

DAY3 Painting

We are not looking for “Realism”, we are looking for “Believability” – What do we want people to feel, and how can I create the specific mood using color and lighting.
Understanding basic lighting, value, exposure, contrast, edges, color variations…. etc
